Had a pre-wedding dinner there with a lot of people and I was enthralled with the food. I often travel to that area to see the guy who works on my guitars and I always fantasize about going back but since I have my two dogs with me, it doesn't seem like an option. Maybe in better weather they have outdoor dining. It is something I will actually investigate because I liked their food so much.

Stopped in for an impromptu lunch. Beer was cold and fresh tasting, we gad the von trapp Oktoberfest which was refreshing and delicious. My chicken schnitzel was nice and thin,crispy-but unfortunately, unpleasantly dry. My bf had the schnitzel sandwich, and he too, found the schnitzel to be really dry. My spaetzel was nice, but for some reason was coated in some salty chicken bouillon, instead of just a nice browned butter. Portions were generous, service was decent. For some reason they wouldn't seat us outside, even though there were others out there, and tables were available.

Really cool spot. We waited for almost an hour and half on wait list but wasn't in a rush so stayed since we drove all the way and planned to go on hike nearby. It was super yummy!! Would go back if I have friend/family that want to try this cuisine.

We had an awesome lunch here after a hike at Minnetonka State Preserve. We got there a little after noon (on a Saturday) and it was crowded. By the time we left, people were waiting for tables. We had the Bavarian pretzel appetizer with cheese sauce (this came with an added cost, but so worth it), the wurst plate, and the beef rouladen. The wursts were tasty. They came with fantastic German potato salad and sauerkraut. I don't really like sauerkraut, but their's was tasty. The beef was amazing. Slow cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce and spaetzel. We will definitely be back!

Sorry no pictures but I've been here a handful of times and never had a bad experience. The food is awesome and authentic! Very cool vibe, a lot of wood decor and a great atmosphere, coupled with the great staff, drinks, and food make it a destination for us. Even celebrated a holiday there once (but forgot, Easter maybe?) If you're looking for authentic German food that's done authentically, this one's for you. Even the setting and location, you'd think you're in the German Alps, with the world renowned (for hikers and climbers) Mohonk Ridge right in your face! GO if you haven't. Really good!

The best German restaurant anywhere. Seriously. Make a reservation! Or sit at the bar? Huge variety of Schnitzel! Homemade spaetzel! Toughest menu on the planet. Everything is so delicious. Been coming here for years. Still discovering new favorites... Daily specials will tempt you. Save room for dessert! The honey layer cake may change your life.

Hubby was stationed in Germany for six years in the 80's. Since then he's been searching for delicious German food in the states. I've been searching for a restaurant to celebrate his birthday and I found Mountain Brauhaus.. Making reservations was a breeze. What a wonderful surprise for him! He was very impressed with the German beer menu, lots of great beers to choose from. Our waiter Eric brought a basket of fresh pumpernickel bread to our table. It's definitely authentic- such an amazing texture and flavor. Hubby went with pork Jagerschnitzel and I opted for pot roast. According to him the Jagerschnitzel was done to perfection with the Spätzle the perfect texture. My pot roast was delicious, fork tender and the mashed potatoes were heaven!! I also had a side of potato pancakes thst were so crispy and tasty. I brought a piece of apfel strudel home. It definitely tasted homemade!! I wish I brought home 2 it was that good. I feel bad withholding one star but, I asked for a straw (I understand they're trying to reduce plastic) and I was told they offered paper straws- however, I never received one. At no time during our meal did our server ever check on us or ask if we'd like more drinks. Last, hubby brought home half of his dinner as the portion was very large. He asked if a little extra gravy could be added because the spatzel absorbed most of it. The server said "oh sure, no problem!" Unfortunately- no extra gravy was added. Overall it was a lovely evening out and the food is delicious!

Amazing German cuisine. We both had the chicken schnitzel prepared different ways - very good and very large portions. Next time we are splitting one dish. Each entree comes with a salad and we had the house onion vinaigrette. Also, we started with onion rings - they were great however, we should have started with the barvarian pretzel from the looks of it, it was much better and more of a classic. Service was great, plenty of people around filling up water glasses and taking empty plates. We also were seated with a nice view of the mountains so ambiance was good. I would highly recommend making a reservation- yes, it's old school calling to make a reservation however very worth it as we walked in and were seated immediately. We didn't have any room for dessert however they looked really good!

Located in a very scenic part of upstate New York, Mountain Brauhaus is well, surrounded by mountains. There is plenty of parking but it fills up quick. The servers were all very friendly and hustled despite being very busy. The tap list is full of premium quality German beers. We started off with the pretzel and the goulash soup as appetizers. The pretzel was brushed with a butter/ herb mixture and it was delicious. The beer cheese was the perfect consistency and the mustards were made from scratch. The goulash soup was smaller than I expected and it is more of a stew than a soup, but it was delicious. For entrees we tried the jagerschnitzel and sauerbraten. The schnitzel is absolutely huge and was cooked to perfection. The sauerbraten was the best I've ever had. The gravy was so good I would drink it in a glass. Both dishes were accompanied by rotkohl and spaezles. I found the rotkohl to be a little sweet for my taste, but the spaezles were crispy and fried to perfection. Mountain Brauhaus is a hike from where we live but it was well worth it. This place has been dishing out some of the best German food since 1955. It's definitely worth checking this place out at least once.
